don’t talk to stanger
My office is around the Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC). I’ve been working in this area for many years. When you are being long enough in one area, you tend to see the same faces everyday while on the way for lunch, to the banks, going to office and even when waiting for the train. I can recognize many familiar faces here in this area even though I don’t know them. I can tell that this lady is working in this building, that gentleman is the staff of that particular bank, this woman has put on weight over the years, this pretty lady got a boy friend now but not a handsome one, etc. I guess they can recognize me too but just like me, we treating each other as stranger. We don’t and never greet each other when passing by each other everyday.
Nevertheless, there is one gentleman that I always greet with a smile when we bump into each other on the road. He does the same way too. For me, he is another total stanger to me, but a friendly one. 2 days ago while walking back to office from lunch, we bump into each other again, and this time both of us stopped and we politely greeting each other and introduce ourselve. His surname is Toh, Mr. Toh.
Most of us here in Malaysia grown up in a typical asian society, which we were told and warned by our parents and the elderly that not to talk to a stanger. We grown up with a mind set that a friendly stranger that come to you will always have some motives behind. This is true for some cases but not all. For this case, I was worried that maybe Mr. Toh is a direct marketing agent, an insurance agent or maybe a guy with specific intention
but i guess my worries are somehow too much. He could be just a friendly stranger that wihout any other motives behind.
I wonder if there is a romance story could happen to me in the similar way that i know Mr. Toh, which I can finally get to know the pretty lady that i’ve been noticing for long time… One day, we finally stop to greet each other and introduce ourselve under the sun, with light breeze and fall leaves while other strangers passing by both of us…..
I enclosed herewith a song of the same title with this blog. best of the 80′s
