Picnic
Picnic was a popular activity in this country, or at least it was a “kid” activity whether they ever participated or not. Most of the pupils have some “experience” associate with picnic. In the primary school, it’s common that pupils are being told to prepare a composition that associate with picnic. Those days during the 80′s, some of the “popular picnic spots” for pupils in the central Malaysia would be Lake Garden, Templer Park, Port Dickson, Morib and etc.
Today, I’m not sure if majority of the people here in Klang Valley are still into Picnic. I guess it’s less popular nowadays since I never heard it from the people around me organizing any picnic activity. It could be due to the hot weather and dusty air that made people opted for the shopping centre during the weekend for a cooler environment.
However, there is always this childhood image of picnic sit in my mind that long for a good and warm family picnic session. We prepare nice foods of sandwiches, burgers, sausages, salads, nasi lemak, potatoes chips, roasted groundnuts to serve with chilled soft drinks and beers. Everyone sit or lay on the grass, enjoying the foods, the nature and a relaxing weekend.
I came across this link with images of picnic from all around the world. Check to see if any of these picnic style fit to the ideal picnic in your mind.
